Husband's Ham Glaze for a Pre-Sliced Spiral Ham
20 mins prepServes 15
There’s no better ham glaze! Courtesy of my Husband 🤌🏾 This recipe details how to make a delicious glaze and apply it to a pre-sliced spiral ham for a caramelized finish.
This sauce is a low and slow simmer sauce. Add everything to a Sauce pan and let it go. Occasionally stir every 15-30 mins. The longer it simmers, the thicker it becomes. Simmer sauce on low until it reduces by half. Allow to fully cool before using glaze.
Bake the ham for 2 hours covered at 250 degrees.
Using only half of the glaze, with an injection needle, inject the lower (non-pre sliced) areas with the glaze, and pour between the ham pieces.
Recover and place back in the oven for 1 hour at 300 degrees.
Remove foil and use the remaining glaze, pouring the glaze evenly in between the slices.
Place back in oven uncovered for another 30 minutes or until you see the desired color.
Remove from oven and pack the top with Brown Sugar.
Place in the over on Broil for a few minutes, until sugar makes a caramelized crust, being careful to watch closely.
With the remaining pan drippings, you can use as a dipping sauce for the ham.
Serve & Enjoy!
